Interns will attend rehearsals, production meetings, performances, and weekly ensemble meetings, and will get to play an active role in the creative process of a collaborative Off-Off-Broadway company. Intern duties will include a mix of assistant director and stage management responsibilities such as taking notes during rehearsals, dramaturgical research, helping to organize the rehearsal spaces, tracking attendance during meetings, and various administrative tasks. Opportunities to contribute to marketing and development campaigns will also be available. Interns will be mentored by production directors and receive additional support from the company's Internship Coordinator.
This is an ideal opportunity for a student interested in stage management, directing, ensemble work, self-producing, the Off-Off-Broadway theater scene. Interns will be expected to commit to working with the company 15 to 20 hours per week, including weekly meetings on Sundays from 6pm to 8pm. Rehearsals are typically held on evenings and weekends in various locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn. A monthly Metrocard will be provided to cover transportation costs.
